A lot has changed since the dawn of the covid-19 situation. It has forcefully brought in a lot of alterations in the way people live their day-to-day lives. Much before the vaccines were discovered, other preliminary measures were ordered by the WHO and the governments of the respective countries. The foremost and most important of these was social distancing. People were asked to stay in their homes and maintain distance from everyone else. All public places were closed down, including schools and offices. This was considered the only way of breaking the chain and flattening the curve.
Another important protocol that the masses were asked to follow religiously was to wear masks and sanitize everything. Steven Rindner gives brief details about the vaccine called the Messenger RNA or mRNA. This contained the same materials that Covid-19 causing virus contained. This was done with the intention that the antibodies would be created inside the body in the form of protein. After this, the protective cells of the body will automatically learn how to destroy the material that was genetic to the virus, whenever it tries to enter the body. The common names of this vaccine were Pfizer- BioNTech and Moderna.
The other type of vaccines were the protein subunit vaccine, the vector vaccine, and the whole virus vaccine. The first one used only a part of the virus to accustom it to the body, after which that too would build antibodies and T-lymphocytes to help the body fight the virus in the future. Novavax was the name of this vaccine pointed out Steven Rindner.
The vector vaccine on the other hand was the safe and modified version of the virus that was put in the body. The reason for creating this vaccine was to give genetic code to the antigen. The names by which this vaccine is recognized include Sputnik V and Oxford-Astra Zeneca.
Finally, the fourth type of vaccine that was available to treat the coronavirus was sold by the brands Sinopharm and Sinovac. This vaccine was primarily to enhance the immunity of the individual.
Despite all the efforts being taken by the authorities, the number of deaths kept increasing, however, no one was ready to give up. It was commendable how the masses followed the protocols laid down and were ultimately able to break the chain. To this day, three variations of the virus have already made their appearance, however, the effects of these viruses had considerably narrowed down.
